Delivery Information

There are 2 ways of getting your purchases home:

  1. We offer Zone 1 and Zone 2 delivery on the mainland only. Our delivery charges are calculated based on where you choose your delivery location. If you live in Zone 1, our delivery charges are €30 for purchases up to €999. If you live in Zone 2, our delivery charges are €45 for purchases up to €999. Any purchases €1000 and over qualify for free delivery in either zone.
  2. One can Click and Collect FREE from any of our Stores: Tallaght, Carlow Town, Naas, Gorey or Wexford Town.

Free delivery is only available on purchases made from €1000 and over on the mainland.

Delivery process:

Delivery is mostly completed within 2-5 weeks, for some products, depending on the location of our suppliers and our customers. For our Irish based suppliers the lead time is generally 1-3 weeks and for our non-Irish suppliers this time is usually 2-5 weeks. It is also dependent on our suppliers having your order in stock at the time. Though every effort will be made to keep within this time frame it may not be possible to do so. If there is a possible late delivery, our Customer Care department will inform you ASAP. Murphy Furniture & Bed Store will not be held responsible for delays beyond our control. 

All products are delivered from our warehouse in County Carlow and can be returned there once the refund process is complete.

If your home or office has a non-standard layout, for example with narrow doors, narrow staircases, difficult to manoeuvre staircases, multiple access floors or particularly difficult layout, you are required to disclose this information to us in the special instructions of the checkout page. Failure to notify delivery company may incur non-delivery or delivery charges. 

Once an ordered item arrives in our warehouse, you will be contacted ASAP regarding an approximate delivery date which will normally be from Mondays to Fridays during our normal business hours. You will also be contacted a day or two before the actual delivery and be given a firm delivery date, the delivery driver will also contact you an hour or two before the actual delivery. The responsibility is on you to make sure all phone calls/voice messages are answered, failure to do so may result in non-delivery and extra re-delivery fees being applied.

If delivery is required outside of these hours or on a specific day/time is required we will endeavour to accommodate you but this may not be possible and may possibly incur extra, out of hours delivery charges. 

If the shipping address is different to the billing address, please pay attention to statements in this section. The same conditions will apply to this address. If there is any extra information please put it in the special instructions section of checkout page, otherwise we cannot guarantee a timely & successful delivery. 

If delivery/assembly date is agreed and nobody is present at stated delivery address to accept delivery then extra charges may be incurred for an agreed re-delivery date/time. 

All deliveries cannot be completed without a customer/trusted family/friend/neighbour receipt signature.

Damaged/Defective Goods

Insofar as is permitted by law, our only liability to you under these terms and conditions will be, at our sole discretion, to replace or repair any goods which are of a defective state and/or are not fit for the purpose in which they are intended, or to refund to you any sums actually paid by you for the goods in question. All goods are sold as seen. We recommend that you thoroughly inspect all products in person prior to sale. We will not be liable to you for any indirect or consequential loss or damage arising out of transport of goods. We do not provide a delivery service and we will have no liability to you for any failure or delay in collection or third-party delivery of goods or any damage or defect in goods delivered which is caused by a third party or by any event or circumstance which is beyond our reasonable control. This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

Murphy Furniture & Bed Store reserves the right to contact a customer via email or phone to verify the accuracy of account information (including address/contact details) that are required to provide information requested by a customer of our website.

Returns Policy

Following the Distance Selling Regulations, if for whatever reason you change your mind and would like to return your order after delivery, you have a cooling off period of 14 days. You must inform us within 14 days of the receipt of your item that you are withdrawing your contract. From the date you inform us of this intention, you then have 14 days to return the item to us. You are responsible for covering the cost of returning the item.

We're happy to refund or exchange your purchase in full; however you must ensure that you have taken reasonable care of the item until it is returned to us. The goods must be in an 'as new' condition and returned in the original, undamaged packaging, along with any accessories and free gifts received with it. The product must not have been used or installed. Whilst the goods are in your possession you must take reasonable care of them and not use them. If the item has been handled in excess prior to being returned to us, you may be liable for a partial refund which covers the depreciated value. Your refund will be issued within 14 days of the item being returned to us. We can arrange to collect the item from you; however this will be subject to a collection charge which will be deducted from your refund amount.

Due to hygiene reasons, mattresses and mattress toppers which have been removed from their original packaging cannot be returned unless they are faulty.

The cost of delivery to our warehouse in County Carlow, Republic of Ireland must be incurred in full by the purchasing customer irrespective of the location you reside in. The item in question may not be a custom order. If none of these conditions are honoured then requests for refunds regrettably will not be entertained.
